Celebrating the cinematic rebirth of the character that has created a cult following locally and internationally since it first appeared in manga in the 1950s and on television in the 1960s, the launch of Astro Boy at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong is the result of a successful collaboration between the attraction; Imagi Studios, the movie’s producers; and Tezuka Productions, the licensor of Astro Boy.

Astro Boy’s figure joins the “world famous home of the famous” on September 29, 2009, in the World Premiere section. Guests to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong can also participate in an interactive display where they can literally step intothe boots of Astro Boy and feel as if they are flying over Metro City.

Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Imagi Studios, Francis Kao said, “Bringing everybody’s favourite robot boy back to Hong Kong has been in the works for us for some time now. We are so excited that he will finally be here in cinemas on October 23, and we can share with others the joy he has brought us. Thanks to Madame Tussauds, fans in Hong Kong will be able to get even closer to their hero. I know they are going to love him as much as we do.” via etravelblackboardasia

I've just come back from vacation in Osaka today so I missed the open ceremony and I couldn't see the final product, but I can tell the wax figure is really close to our original design. The crew who made this is really professional and they ask us lots of questions about the details. Thank them so much to making this.

AstroBoy 3.5mins Clip "Escape from MetrocIty"

Summit Entertainment & Imagi Studios have released a new three and a half minute clip from “Astro Boy” called ‘Escape from Metro City’. The clip is from the beginning of the movie, right after Astro Boy learns he’s a robot and not a real boy and being chased by Army. via collider.com

This is one of my favorite sequence, I like the action camera and the humor. Besides, there are few Tezuka manga characters in this sequence, can you find them all?

AstroBoy AD in Japan

One of animator just visited from Japan recently and bring this print AD "The Atom Times". It looks nice.

Also the outdoor AD is already up in Japan. These two were taken at Shibuya Station in Tokyo, one of the key public transportation hubs and entertainment/shopping areas in Japan. Thanks Kadokawa for the images.

I think there should be more, if fans find any new Atom promotional materials, please send me and i can share with everyone here.

Actually I haven't watch any Gundam anime for long long time. I like the design of Zero Gundam, but haven't got a chance and time to watch that yet...

Kobe Project WIP

The 18m Tetsujin 28 statute in Kobe is reported to be entering its last few stages of construction. the statue is at Wakamatsu Park (若松公園) in Shinnagata, Kobe (神戸 新長田). Almost there!

Super Baozi

The new character Super Baozi is super hot recently in China internet world! I was impressed when i saw that first time in facebook post by friend, the character animation is very good, a professional quality. My old game character design

This is the really old game character design i did in 1996. At that time, I used to love Rockman (Megaman) very much. My friend asked me to produce a simialr game like Rockman and asked me to design the character. I am also inspired a lot from the movie TRON, i put those elements together and come up with these sets of designs. Once the character won the opponents, he will get his armor and morph, so I designed more than 10 versions... (color pencil + marker) see more at my art-blog

I love how graphic designer Noma Bar play eith the negative space on his clever illustrations. These are some examples of his new book Negative Space. In this book Bar focuses on subject matter ranging from sex, global warming and nuclear warfare to religion, crime and corporate greed. Recommended!!

Noma Bar Bios: "Born in Israel into a highly artistic family, Noma Bar, graduated in 2000 from the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design with a B.DES Bachelor of Graphic & Type Design. Now based in London he describes his craft as visual communication, combining the skills of artist, illustrator and designer.
