NTT x Gatchaman

I think all the Gatchaman fans should see this NTT x Gatchaman CM in 2000. This is one of the most important reference and inspiration for our team. We want to keep the tone and "anime" animation style. I would like to share with friend again here, Enjoy!

There is a live version featuring SMAP, the camera and the storyboard pretty much the same.

  1. I remember seeing these videos before and thinking to myself that was really cool. Lots of good reference there. Were you going to incorporate the idea of having the helmet transform on the wearer in your version? I would like to know more on what kind of approach you were planning to use.

The general tone I would like to see is something similar to the Batman Beyond animated series with its sophisticated and mature writing for the older audience but there is also plenty of cool action. It features futuristic setting and hi-tech weaponry. The writer of this show, Paul Dini, was going to write the script for the Gatchaman movie but it seems there were some creative difference unfortunately. The style of the character design I would have like to see is something close to the realistic look but not to the point like Robert Zemeckis's Beowulf or A Christmas Carol, yet not too cartoonish. I believe you guys achieve the right balance based on what I saw so far from the poster and the test footages. What I don't want to see is a light-hearted and a campy tone. It should appeal to the teenage and older crowd who appreciate edgy material similar to The Dark Knight and Iron Man.

Btw, Imagi Studios LA is being auction off. Sigh What a shame...
