Rabbit-Sculptures by Russell Wrankle
"I am a sculptor who chooses ceramics as my primary medium. My subject matter is personal narrative through the use of animal imagery. Like Aesop’s Fables, animals are an apt vehicle to express human truths and characteristics. Using familiar animals such as rabbits dogs, frogs and crab claws, I interpret them through the filter of my own experience. While the leaping off point for the imagery is personal, I believe that the personal is universal. Joy, suffering and points in between are experienced cross culturally and I attempt to express the universal in my art through visual metaphor. "- Russell Wrankle
